BIOGRAPHY
Having spent most of his youth on a small island in the Caribbean, Kenneth Stipe draws upon a vast array of experiences and imagery, contributing to his unique outlook of light and composition.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1979 where he began his study of cinematography by working in motion picture film laboratories. "One can't imagine the importance of understanding the inner workings of the film lab and how beneficial that knowledge is to the development of my craft." Through the lab, Ken met film students whom frequently called upon him to shoot their various thesis films. Having compiled a body of work, Ken was accepted to the American Film Institute in 1990 as a cinematography "fellow". He spent one year there, under the guidance of Theo Van De Sandt, ASC and Harry Wolfe, ASC. The experience of working as a crewmember was invaluable, however, short-lived, as Ken knew his talents were better suited behind the camera.

Four Corners Entertainment picked up the film for foreign distribution and hired Ken to shoot two of their in-house feature productions. The Hostage, stars Cynthia Rothrock and Dana Plato. In 1997, Rejected by Vultures, Ken's fourth feature, played the festival circuit, with screenings at The Palm Springs Film Festival, IFFM in New York and the Slam Dunk Film Festival in Park City where it was the audience choice winner.
